Damian Gryski 2a49216152 compiler: add regression test for generic methods in interfaces
Add compiler/testdata/go1.27.go, gated behind Go >= 1.27 (the version
that promoted generic methods out of the GenericMethods experiment),
covering both fixes from the previous two commits:

  - genericMethod has a regular method and a generic method (its own
type parameter); boxing it into an interface must only include the
regular method in the runtime method set instead of panicking in
    getTypeCodeName.
  - onlyGenericMethod's sole method is generic, so its type code must
have hasMethodSet == false and no methodSet field at all, not an
    empty one.

Verified this test panics on the pre-fix compiler/interface.go and
passes after it.

Jake Bailey 9e7d89d4d5 compiler: pass large aggregates by pointer
LLVM ComputeValueVTs recursively expands arrays and structs into one
value type per scalar leaf. SelectionDAG call lowering allocates data
structures proportional to this count, which makes very large values
exhaust memory or crash LLVM.

Count scalar leaves and use pointers for internal parameters and results
when the count exceeds 1024. A result pointer is the first parameter,
and aggregate parameters point to read-only memory. Exported function
types are unchanged.

Keep these SSA values in memory and copy them with memcpy when needed.
Handle calls, interfaces, maps, channels, selects, defers, goroutines,
phis, and multiple results. Update the expected compiler IR and re-enable
the native compress/flate tests.

Damian Gryski 6203b624c5 transform, compiler: support LLVM 21's captures(none) attribute; add LLVM 22 build support
Written entirely by Claude (Anthropic's Claude Code), at the request of
and under the direction of dgryski, as part of an effort to get TinyGo
building against upcoming LLVM releases (this branch currently targets
LLVM 22, verified against real LLVM 22.1.8; a corresponding go-llvm
branch of the same name adds the matching binding support).

LLVM 21 replaced the boolean 'nocapture' enum attribute with the more
expressive 'captures' int attribute, where captures(none) (value 0) is
the equivalent of the old nocapture. This matters for
transform.OptimizeAllocs, which relies on reading this attribute for
its interprocedural escape analysis, and for compiler/symbol.go, which
emits it on a number of runtime/generated functions. Confirmed
empirically (via `opt -passes=function-attrs`) that the cutoff is
LLVM 20 emits/expects nocapture, LLVM 21+ emits/expects
captures(none). Since TinyGo must keep working with LLVM 20, both
sites now go through new version-gated helpers in
compiler/llvmutil (NoCaptureAttrName/IsNoCapture) rather than switching
unconditionally.

Also fixes a second, unrelated but load-bearing break found while
testing against LLVM 22: llvm.lifetime.start/end dropped their i64
size argument (confirmed via `opt -passes=verify`, the cutoff here is
one version later, at LLVM 22). compiler/llvmutil now builds the
right call signature based on version.

Adds llvm21 and llvm22 build-tag config files to the cgo package,
which parses cgo fragments via libclang and had never been updated
past LLVM 20 even though the compiler package itself already gained
LLVM 21 support previously -- a latent gap that would have caused a
version mismatch between the cgo preprocessor and the rest of the
compiler when building with -tags llvm21 or llvm22.

Finally, updates the golden-IR test comparators in
transform/transform_test.go and compiler/compiler_test.go to
normalize a few cosmetic LLVM 21/22 output differences (the
captures(none) rename/reordering, a new 'nocreateundeforpoison'
intrinsic attribute, and the lifetime intrinsic arity change) so a
single golden file continues to match output from either LLVM
version.

Verified by building a full (non-byollvm) tinygo binary against real
LLVM 22.1.8 and running a compiled Go program end-to-end (exercising
OptimizeAllocs' stack-allocation path), and by running the
transform/compiler/cgo test suites against both LLVM 20 (default) and
LLVM 22.

Not yet addressed: the byollvm embedded-clang/lld build path hits
separate, unrelated Clang C++ API breakage against LLVM 22
(DiagnosticOptions reference-to-pointer change, missing headers) --
that is a larger follow-up effort.

Ayke van Laethem d801d0cd53 builder: refactor clang include headers
Set -resource-dir in a central place instead of passing the header path
around everywhere and adding it using the `-I` flag. I believe this is
closer to how Clang is intended to be used.

This change was inspired by my attempt to add a Nix flake file to

Ayke van Laethem 3b1913ac57 all: use the new LLVM pass manager
The old LLVM pass manager is deprecated and should not be used anymore.
Moreover, the pass manager builder (which we used to set up a pass
pipeline) is actually removed from LLVM entirely in LLVM 17:
https://reviews.llvm.org/D145387
https://reviews.llvm.org/D145835

The new pass manager does change the binary size in many cases: both
growing and shrinking it. However, on average the binary size remains
more or less the same.

This is needed as a preparation for LLVM 17.

Ayke van Laethem 1da1abe314 all: remove LLVM 14 support
This is a big change: apart from removing LLVM 14 it also removes typed

a ton of special cases for LLVM 14.

Ayke van Laethem e075e0591d main: use go env instead of doing all detection manually
This replaces our own manual detection of various variables (GOROOT,
GOPATH, Go version) with a simple call to `go env`.

If the `go` command is not found:

error: could not find 'go' command: executable file not found in $PATH

If the Go version is too old:

error: requires go version 1.18 through 1.20, got go1.17

If the Go tool itself outputs an error (using GOROOT=foobar here):

go: cannot find GOROOT directory: foobar

This does break the case where `go` wasn't available in $PATH but we
would detect it anyway (via some hardcoded OS-dependent paths). I'm not
sure we want to fix that: I think it's better to tell users "make sure
`go version` prints the right value" than to do some automagic detection
of Go binary locations.

Ayke van Laethem ebd4969cde all: switch to LLVM 13
This adds support for building with `-tags=llvm13` and switches to LLVM
13 for tinygo binaries that are statically linked against LLVM.

Some notes on this commit:

  * Added `-mfloat-abi=soft` to all Cortex-M targets because otherwise
nrfx would complain that floating point was enabled on Cortex-M0.
That's not the case, but with `-mfloat-abi=soft` the `__SOFTFP__`
macro is defined which silences this warning.
    See: https://reviews.llvm.org/D100372
  * Changed from `--sysroot=<root>` to `-nostdlib -isystem <root>` for
musl because with Clang 13, even with `--sysroot` some system
libraries are used which we don't want.
  * Changed all `-Xclang -internal-isystem -Xclang` to simply
`-isystem`, for consistency with the above change. It appears to
    have the same effect.
  * Moved WebAssembly function declarations to the top of the file in
task_asyncify_wasm.S because (apparently) the assembler has become
    more strict.

Nia Waldvogel 641dcd7c16 internal/task: use asyncify on webassembly
This change implements a new "scheduler" for WebAssembly using binaryen's asyncify transform.
This is more reliable than the current "coroutines" transform, and works with non-Go code in the call stack.

runtime (js/wasm): handle scheduler nesting

If WASM calls into JS which calls back into WASM, it is possible for the scheduler to nest.
The event from the callback must be handled immediately, so the task cannot simply be deferred to the outer scheduler.
This creates a minimal scheduler loop which is used to handle such nesting.

This commit adds object layout information to new heap allocations. It
is not yet used anywhere: the next commit will make use of it.

Object layout information will eventually be used for a (mostly) precise

also useful in the interp package which can work better if it knows the
memory layout and thus the approximate LLVM type of heap-allocated
objects.

Ayke van Laethem 71d1b70ab7 compiler: only run tests on LLVM 11 or above
It's difficult to create clean test cases while remaining compatible
with multiple LLVM versions. Most test outputs are much more readable
after an instcombine pass but instcombine rules change between LLVM
versions, leading to different (but semantically equivalent) test
outputs.

This reduces the test coverage a little bit (because old LLVM versions
aren't tested as well), but it als makes it easier to add more complex
tests.

In the future it might be a good idea to make the compiler output a bit
less messy so these workarounds are not needed.

Ayke van Laethem e2f532709f builder, compiler: compile and cache packages in parallel
This commit switches from the previous behavior of compiling the whole
program at once, to compiling every package in parallel and linking the
LLVM bitcode files together for further whole-program optimization.
This is a small performance win, but it has several advantages in the
future:

  - There are many more things that can be done per package in parallel,
avoiding the bottleneck at the end of the compiler phase. This
should speed up the compiler futher.
  - This change is a necessary step towards a non-LTO build mode for
fast incremental builds that only rebuild the changed package, when
compiler speed is more important than binary size.
  - This change refactors the compiler in such a way that it will be
easier to inspect the IR for one package only. Inspecting this IR
will be very helpful for compiler developers.

Ayke van Laethem 9612af466b compiler: move settings to a separate Config struct
Moving settings to a separate config struct has two benefits:
  - It decouples the compiler a bit from other packages, most
importantly the compileopts package. Decoupling is generally a good
    thing.
  - Perhaps more importantly, it precisely specifies which settings are
used while compiling and affect the resulting LLVM module. This will
be necessary for caching the LLVM module.
While it would have been possible to cache without this refactor, it
would have been very easy to miss a setting and thus let the
    compiler work with invalid/stale data.
