dkegel-fastly 8135be4e90 GNUmakefile: add spellfix target, use it. (#4387)
TODO: Remove the go.mod/go.sum in internal/tools once doing so doesn't break CI (e.g. once we drop support for go 1.19)

* builder/cc1as.h: fix typo found by 'make spell'
* GNUmakefile: remove exception for inbetween, fix instance now found by 'make spell'
* GNUmakefile: remove exception for programmmer, fix instance now found by 'make spell'
* go.mod: use updated misspell. GNUmakefile: add spellfix target, use it.
* ignore directories properly when invoking spellchecker.
* make spell: give internal/tools its own go.mod, as misspell requires newer go
* make lint: depend on tools and run the installed revive
(which was perhaps implied by the change that added revive to internal/tools,
but not required in GNUmakefile until we gave internal/tools its own temporary go.mod)
* .github: now that 'make spell' works well, run it from CI
* GNUmakefile: make spell now aborts if it finds misspelt words, so what it finds doesn't get lost in CI logs
* GNUmakefile: tools: avoid -C option on go generate to make test-llvm15-go119 circleci job happy, see
https://cs.opensource.google/go/go/+/2af48cbb7d85e5fdc635e75b99f949010c607786
* internal/tools/go.mod: fix format of go version to leave out patchlevel, else go complains.

Ayke van Laethem 78775007fa wasm: fix symbol table index for archives
The symbol table was generated incorrectly. The correct way is to use
the custom linking WebAssembly section, which I implemented in go-wasm
for this purpose.

This fixes https://github.com/tinygo-org/tinygo/issues/4114 and is a
prerequisite for https://github.com/tinygo-org/tinygo/pull/4176.

Ayke van Laethem c7a23183e8 all: format code according to Go 1.19 rules
Go 1.19 started reformatting code in a way that makes it more obvious
how it will be rendered on pkg.go.dev. It gets it almost right, but not
entirely. Therefore, I had to modify some of the comments so that they
are formatted correctly.

Ayke van Laethem 869e917dc6 all: add support for windows/amd64
This uses Mingw-w64, which seems to be the de facto standard for porting
Unixy programs to Windows.

Ayke van Laethem b344d65781 builder: reduce number of open files
MacOS X 10.14 has a soft limit of 256 open files by default, at least on
CircleCI. So don't keep object files open while writing the ar file to
reduce the number of open files at once.

Context: the musl libc has more than 256 object files in the .a file.
This resulted in the error "too many open files" on MacOS X 10.14 when
running in CircleCI.

Ayke van Laethem 79bdd3f79a picolibc: add include directory to build artefact
This is really just a preparatory commit for musl support. The idea is
to store not just the archive file (.a) but also an include directory.
This is optional for picolibc but required for musl, so the main purpose
of this commit is the refactor needed for this change.

Ayke van Laethem 14bb90c3c0 cgo: add support for stdio in picolibc and wasi-libc
This adds support for stdio in picolibc and fixes wasm_exec.js so that
it can also support C puts. With this, C stdout works on all supported
platforms.

Ayke van Laethem 49dd2ce393 all: fix staticcheck warnings
This is a loose collection of small fixes flagged by staticcheck:

  - dead code
  - regexp expressions not using backticks (`foobar` / "foobar")
  - redundant types of slice and map initializers
  - misc other fixes

Not all of these seem very useful to me, but in particular dead code is
nice to fix. I've fixed them all just so that if there are problems,
they aren't hidden in the noise of less useful issues.

Ayke van Laethem 8266d2ff58 builder: write a symbol table when writing out the compiler-rt lib
This should fix an issue with LLVM 9 (specifically, ld.lld-9).
